Valerie Frith

A Londoner by birth and having moved to Cornwall in 1988, Valerie is an experienced antique dealer and bookdealer.  She worked at a secondary school library before opening "Recollections" her shop in St Agnes dealing in antiques and books, in 1995

Books became more and more popular and eventually in 2000 the shop converted to a bookshop.  With the rapid growth in business the decision was made to open a warehouse for the internet operation.  As the on-line business growth was so fast the shop closed  in 2003 and Recollections Bookshop became totally internet based.   

In retirement was have no plans to give up selling books, which we love, and all business is now conducted from our office at home and the books remain in the warehouse

Ray Frith

Ray has lived in Cornwall since 1979 although also hails from London and is a native of Catford.  He acknowledges his roots by still being a supporter of Crystal Palace FC, much to the embarrassment of his three sons

After taking early retirement from the banking world, he joined Val in 1998 

Ray has had a lifelong interest in Railway History, having visited probably every station in the UK and taken a photograph.  Our Railway section is comprehensive and reflects this interest.
